Stream Live Radio Through PlayStation 3 (PS3)

Did you know that you can listen to streaming radio through your PlayStation 3 (PS3) ENTERTANMENT console?

Well it’s very true and I am able to stream live radio through Playstation 3 console. The download that lets you accomplish this cool task is PS3 Radio. PS3 Radio is a free download and ‘plugs in’ to PS3 Media Server.

Setting up PS3 Radio is very easy but takes awhile to setup, so make sure you have a movie or video game ready because with the downloading of the radio files and ‘Playlist conversion’ process, it’s over an hour! But again, it’s very cool to have this feature enabled on your PS3 ENTERTAINMENT console.

Here’s that you’ll need:
– Windows based PC
PS3 Media Server
PS3 Radio
PlayStation 3 Entertainment Console
– PC and PS3 networked together on the same subnet (eg.,

1. Download and install PS3 Media Server.
2. Close PS3 Media Server.
3. Download PS3 Radio.
4. Unzip PS3 Radio files in ‘c:Program FilesPS3 Media Server’ WINDOWS 64 bit users: ‘c:Program Files (x86)PS3 Media Server’.
5. Run PS3-Radio.exe.
6. Take a shit….take a shit on your neighbors porch, make a sandwich..just do stuff to kill 10 minutes.
7. Click Step 2 where it will take at least an HOUR to ‘convert playlists’.
8. Leave PC alone and go play a video game/watch a movie for at least an hour.
9. Click Step 3…setup is complete.
10. Move to your PS3 and navigate to MUSIC and select PS3 Media Server in the XMB (Cross Menu Bar).
11. Stream Live Radio Through PlayStation 3

Here’s my YouTube video on the PS3 Radio.

UPDATE FROM COMMENTATOR THEO: block “” on your router or firewall as that is the offending site – after this the procedure should complete is responding with a mp3 file (many MBs) instead of a playlist (a few KBs). This is why it struggles for a very long time processing each entry and also why it eventually exceeds limits. There is no way to work around this in PS3-Radio without modifying the source code, which is not available. If you can add filter rules to your router, however, blocking access to will prevent the erroneous download, thereby allowing PS3-radio to proceed past 49%.
