Well it’s released and it’s FREE! “i” devices such as iPhone, iPad and iPod Touches can now print to Windows shared printers!
I did it and it WORKS! VERY simple to do.
Download the AirPrint Activator, install (as admin) the corresponding version (32bit or 64bit), share your printer via Windows, turn ON your Guest account, have your iPhone, iPad and or iPod Touch on WiFi and send your job to PRINT!
When you print for the first time, you’ll be prompted for a username and password, simply enter ‘Guest’ as username and leave the password field blank.
So simple, it takes one sentence to describe the whole process.

I tried on both XP and Windows7, and it did not work in either. It may be because I have my wireless router set up as strictly an access point, and all the “routing” in my home network takes place at the dsl router.
I have iOS 5 on my iPhone.
If anyone has any tips for making this work in that configuration, I’d appreciate it.

Hi Sal, just wondering if this is no longer current information with the iOS5 or something? It does not work for me either. Here’s what I’m working with: Windows 7 (x64), Canon PIXMA MG5220, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4S and iPad 2. All with iOS 5. None of my iOS 5 devices will see any printers. It just says “No AirPrint Printers Found.” One other note: I did try the following procedure prior to seeing your video on youtube.
